Priyanka is an English assistant who came to France on September 29th 2024. She is from India and she is 28 years old. Priyanka is a photographer. Her favorite things to take pictures of are landscapes and people, especially when they look away. She also takes the small details in pictures because she thinks that they make the beauty of a thing. One of her dreams is to picture Mongolia’s landscapes.

The photographer started to learn French in 2022 but she took a break in 2023. However, she restarted to learn French in 2024. She came to France because she had the opportunity to be an English assistant and she took it. She is really happy about that decision and she thinks that if anyone has that chance, they should not think twice and take it. The English assistant finds the life in France is very slow compared to the life in India but she really likes it. She did not travel a lot, she said that she has always dreamed to go to Italy especially to Roma. However, if she had to move in another country than India, it would be France, perhaps Brittany if the summer is warm enough.

Priyanka loves France. She loves the way that people say « Bonjour » when they see you or even just the way they smile when they walk past you. She also loves the fact that French people have passion. They can express their art, their creativity. In India, people don’t have time for this. The photographer really likes French food. She told us that she likes snails but not oysters. Her favorite French food is crepes.

On the one hand, Priyanka is excited to go back to India to see her family again. On the other, she will miss France very much. In the future, she would like to speak French more fluently.

Finally, Priyanka explains to us the difference between French and Indian education. First of all, in India, it is all about memory, you have to memorize all your classes and the students do not have any relationship with their teachers. They also cannot express their opinions or even ask too many questions. But, in France it is the opposite. Life in France and India are very different. Priyanka recommends three movies about life in India : ‘’’Taare zameen’’, ‘’three idiots’’ and ‘’Barfi’’.
